Gabrielle’s sisters, Ilona Rich Schachter and Daniella
Rich Kilstock, both call London home and wanted to introduce
Gabrielle’s Angels to the UK. So, on December 8th, Ilona
and her husband Kenny Schachter opened their beautiful home
for an event sponsored by Total Management, Champagne
Pommery, Belvedere Vodka and Soleil D’Or.
The Loeb Central Park Boathouse once again served as the
backdrop for the Second Annual Medical Symposium & Luncheon.
Grantees past and present flew in from around the country
to discuss the latest discoveries in hematologic
malignancies. Medical Advisory Board Chair, Dr. Stephen D.
Nimer started the morning off by
ANGEL BALL 2011 RAISES $3.5M!
The Foundation kicked off the Angel Ball 2011 with its
annual VIP Launch Party. A member of the Angel Ball Gala
Co-Chair committee very generously volunteered to host the
event at her Manhattan home. Nearly 200 donors enjoyed the
exquisitely appointed Upper East Side townhouse with
cocktails by Belvedere Vodka,
Last month, luxury shopping destination Americana Manhasset
set up shop in Co-Founder Denise Rich’s Manhattan
residence to give donors the opportunity to buy the latest
in haute couture while supporting cancer research. Billed
as “A Day of Peace, Love, & Fashion,” Director of
Personal Shopping, Danielle Merollo transformed the
apartment
In 2010, the Loeb Central Park Boathouse provided the
setting for the Foundation’s first-ever Medical Luncheon &
Symposium. A group of over 50 of the Foundation’s
grantees, past & present, Medical Advisory Board Members,
and supporters attended the inaugural event to exchange and
share ideas about the important work funded
Cipriani Wall Street was packed to capacity on October 21st
for the Foundation’s signature event, the Angel Ball,
which raised over $3.7 million for cancer research. Hosted
by Entertainment Tonight’s Samantha Harris, stars
including Kim Kardashian, Petra Nemcova, Chris Tucker,
Stephen Baldwin, Russell Simmons, Vera Wang, Rosie Perez,
and Anthony
York Prep student, Andrew Warren, and a committee of his
high-school friends rallied the troops for the second
“Teens Making a Difference!” and raised an incredible
$70,000 for the Foundation’s research initiatives.
Sponsored by Rocawear and espace, the event drew over 300
New York area high school students dressed to
Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation raised an incredible $3.8
million on October 20th at Cipriani Wall Street. Stars
including Natalie Cole, Howard Stern, Deborah Norville, Alan
Cumming, Kathie Lee Gifford & Hoda Kotb, Sherri Shepherd,
Bar Rafeli, Clive Davis, Patricia Field and others turned
out to help celebrate. Lorraine Schwartz, Audi of
The Tenth Anniversary Angel Ball celebration raised a record
$5.3 million. Held at New York’s Marriott Marquis, the
event was sponsored by Angel Benefactor, Moët Hennessy and
Audi, Continental Airlines, LEVIEV, and Toresco Enterprises
all of whom helped to make this night the most successful to
