Selenis Levya Joins as Ambassador

Star of "Orange is the New Black" supports work of the Foundation as newest Angel Ambassador

Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer research announces our newest Angel Ambassador, actress and star of “Orange is the New Black” Selenis Leyva. She joins our current ambassadors including the actor Alan Cumming, R&B singer Estelle, actress Brittany Daniel, Emmy-winner Suleika Jaouad, writer Erin Zammett Ruddy and “Survivor: Africa” winner Ethan Zohn.

Our Angel Ambassadors help us spread the word about the importance of funding cancer research and provide support through social media and events throughout the year.

Born and raised in the Bronx, Selenis was 8-years-old when her 3-year-old brother, Arnol was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He later developed thyroid cancer.

“My goal as an Angel Ambassador is to continue supporting all efforts going towards cancer research and give support to all who are currently fighting this awful disease. I am honored and deeply moved to join this extraordinary foundation."
